Biography
Lelia Kiš-Glavaš is a full professor tenure at the Department of Inclusive Education and Rehabilitation, Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Zagreb. She also acts as the Coordinator for students with disabilities, deputy head of the Centre for Counselling and Student Support and a member of the Scientific Board. She was the Vice Dean for Science from 2004 until 2009, Head of International Cooperation from 2009 until 2011, and Head of the undergraduate study of Rehabilitation and the graduate study of Educational Rehabilitation from 2012 until 2014.
At the University of Zagreb, she is the Chair of the Committee for Students with Disabilities. She was also the head of the Tempus project “Education for Equal Opportunities at Croatian Universities – EduQuality” (2010 – 2013). She is the head and lecturer of the University-wide elective course “Peer Support for Students with Disability”, which is offered at all study programmes at the University of Zagreb.
She is a member of numerous professional associations and committees, has participated in drafting several laws and bylaws and was a member of the National Board for Improvement of the Social Dimension of Higher Education.
She is currently a member of the Government of the Republic of Croatia’s Committee for Persons with Disabilities, the National Council for Development of Social Policies, the Ombudswoman for Persons with Disabilities’ Expert Council and Coordination for Support in Higher Education, as well as an Inclusion and Diversity Ambassador appointed by the Agency for Mobility and EU Programmes.
She is married, a mother of two adult children and a grandmother to Lovro.
