Quality Assurance System at the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences
Objective of Quality Assurance
The objective of quality assurance is to develop mechanisms for promoting quality and achieving the highest standards in educational, scientific, and research activities, as well as in the professional and administrative activities of the Faculty.
Purpose of Quality Assurance
The purpose of the quality assurance system is to prescribe and implement the principles, criteria, and procedures of quality assurance in compliance with the provisions of the law regulating quality assurance in science and higher education, the Statute of the University of Zagreb, and the University regulations governing quality assurance, while taking into account the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG standards).
Quality Assurance Procedures
The basic procedures within the quality assurance system are:
- defining the mission and strategy of the quality assurance system,
- setting measurable objectives within the defined strategy,
- determining and developing processes for implementing the strategy and ensuring the achievement of strategic objectives,
- measuring and analysing achievements in relation to the established strategic objectives,
- undertaking corrective and preventive actions in the field of quality and improving the level of quality,
- defining new objectives.
Committee for Quality Assurance
The Committee for Quality Assurance is a permanent advisory body of the Faculty Council.
The role and responsibilities of the ERF Committee for Quality Assurance include planning, coordinating, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating measures and activities related to quality at ERF, as well as cooperating with the bodies/offices of the University of Zagreb responsible for quality management, the Agency for Science and Higher Education, and the internal and external stakeholders of the ERF quality assurance system.
The ERF Committee for Quality Assurance consists of seven members (one of the faculty representatives serves as Chair and one as Deputy Chair):
- three representatives of teaching staff elected to scientific-teaching and/or teaching positions (one from each study council),
- one representative of employees in associate positions,
- one representative of non-teaching staff,
- one student representative,
- one representative of external stakeholders.
The mandate of the Chair and members of the ERF Committee for Quality Assurance lasts three years, with the possibility of one re-election.
The composition, scope of work, and operating procedures of the ERF Committee for Quality Assurance are regulated by the Regulations on the Quality Assurance System of the Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences, University of Zagreb.

- Assoc. Prof. Tihana Novak, PhD, representative of the Social Pedagogy Study Counci
- Tomislav Ljutić, PhD, representative of external stakeholders
- Lea Masnjak Šušković, MA, representative of employees in associate positions
- Anamarija Ivanagić, MA, representative of non-teaching staff
- Karlo Borjan, student representative
The mandate of the Committee lasts from December 18, 2025 until December 17, 2028.

Quality Management System in accordance with the ISO 9001:2015 standard
The University of Zagreb Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences has been awarded the internationally recognized ISO 9001:2015 certificate for its quality management system in March 2026.
This certification confirms that the Faculty systematically and responsibly manages its processes while continuously enhancing the quality of all its activities – from teaching and research to professional and administrative work.
ISO 9001:2015 is a globally recognized standard that provides a framework for effective quality management, with a strong focus on excellence, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement. Its implementation ensures that processes are planned, monitored, and improved in a structured and transparent way.
For the Faculty, this certificate represents more than a formal recognition – it reflects our commitment to students, users, and partners, and confirms that quality is a core value embedded in everything we do. It also inspires us to further develop, innovate, and raise standards in higher education and research.
