Vision, Mission, Core Values and Strategy

Vision

The vision of the University of Zagreb Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences is to become an internationally recognised higher education institution distinguished by excellence in teaching and research, as well as by its professional impact on the environment in which it operates.

Mission

The mission of the University of Zagreb Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences is to provide education grounded in scientific knowledge in the fields of educational rehabilitation, speech and language therapy, and social pedagogy, to promote the inclusion of vulnerable and at-risk groups into the community. The Faculty acts at the level of the individual and the social environment, contributing to public policy development and social well-being, while upholding the principles of professional ethics and responsibility.

Core Values

The core values of the University of Zagreb Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences are founded on academic excellence, professional integrity, inclusiveness, and social responsibility. In its activities, the Faculty fosters responsibility, empathy, and equal access to education by developing student support systems and encouraging cooperation with the academic community and society at large. Openness, transparency, and participatory governance form the foundation of its institutional practice and its contribution to social well-being.

Strategy

The University of Zagreb Faculty of Education and Rehabilitation Sciences has developed a Development Strategy Plan for a period of five years with the aim of determining clear development guidelines that take into account the most significant social and economic trends at the local, national, European and global levels. The Plan covers the period 2025-2030 and contains an overview of the goals and activities through which the Faculty wants to position itself as a leading higher education institution in Croatia and in the region focused on the development of Educational rehabilitation, Speech therapy and Social pedagogy.

At the very beginning of the Plan, there is the vision and mission of the Faculty, along with the value framework. This is followed by an analysis of the position and potential of the Faculty in the internal and external environment, development perspectives and challenges, as well as a presentation of the basic strategic goals, along with the associated specific goals, activities and expected results by the end of 2030.

The overall activities and strategic goals of the Faculty for the coming period are defined on the basis of a series of strategic documents adopted by the Government of the Republic of Croatia or central state administration bodies:

  1. The National Development Strategy of Republic of Croatia 2030 (NRS 20230),
  2. Smart Specialization Strategy 2029 (S3 2029),
  3. National Recovery and Resilience Plan 2021-2026 (NRRP),
  4. Competitiveness and Cohesion Programme 2021-2027 (PKK),
  5. Research Infrastructure Development Roadmap of the Republic of Croatia 2023-2027,
  6. Croatian Qualifications Framework (CroQF).
