1. To recognize different types and causes of orofacial cleft, and to understand the connection between different types of clefts and development of communication, language, speech and sounds and hearing
2. To cite and understand different surgical and orthodontic interventions as well as the time of intervention
3. To select and apply the best SLP intervention (consulting parents, direct SLP therapy with an emphasis on speech sound disorders and nasality)
4. To emphasize the importance of teamwork
5. To conduct research in orofacial clefts
