Description:
Objectives / competences:
The course provides students with basic knowledge about the theory and phenomenology of language development of hearing impaired people. The aim of this course is for students to gain knowledge about: research on the language development of deaf and hard of hearing children in the field of vocabulary, morphosyntax, reading and writing; on the benefits of early sign language acquisition. At the end of the exam, the student will be able to understand, define and determine the basic features of language development of deaf and hard of hearing children and adults with hearing impairment. The student will be able to apply the acquired knowledge in rehabilitation procedures with hearing-impaired children and adults.
