With the aim of strengthening collaboration and expressing gratitude for the mentors’ valuable contribution to the education of future educational rehabilitation specialists, the 1st Mentor Day at the Rehabilitation / Educational Rehabilitation study program was held on November 7, 2025.
The importance of mentoring in student practical training and field placements during their studies was highlighted by Associate Professor Luka Bonetti, PhD, Vice Dean for Studies and Students; Professor Daniela Cvitković, PhD, Head of the Rehabilitation / Educational Rehabilitation Study Council; and Professor Anamarija Žic Ralić, PhD, course leader of the Practice in Selected Course module.
Research and Teaching Assistant Marijana Vrankić Pavon presented the results of a survey on students’ experiences during their practical training. Numerous positive experiences were emphasized.
Mentors shared their experiences of working with students from the Rehabilitation / Educational Rehabilitation study program: Mirela Horvat, SEN coordinator at Dr. Ivan Merz Primary School; Ivana Rogar Gojević, Educational Rehabilitation Specialist at the Community Service Center “Mali dom”; Tomislav Ljutić, PhD, Director of Potočnica Kindergarten; and Sonja Tober, MSc, from University Hospital Dubrava.
An engaging lecture on the visual functioning of children with cerebral palsy was delivered by Assistant Professor Ana Katušić, PhD.
