Description:
The aim of the course is to provide students with a basic understanding of the concepts in statistics and the application of statistical reasoning in the social sciences.

Course content:
Clinical and statistical approach in the social sciences
Measurement levels
Statistical distributions
Measures of central tendency and dispersion of results
Standardized scores (z-values, centiles, T-scores)
Population and sample
Probabilistic sampling
Estimating population parameters
Testing statistical hypotheses
Difference between two samples and two sets of observations
Difference between three samples (ANOVA)
Two-way analysis of variance
Correlation
Partial correlation
Chi-square

Student obligations: Students are required to attend lectures (80%).
Assessment and evaluation of students' work during classes and at the final exam: The points achieved through various activities are added up and based on that a final grade is formed.
