Description:
The course introduces students, practically and theoretically, to the sign language research, covers the areas of linguistics, psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics, sociolinguistics and assessment of acquisition, knowledge and skills in sign languages. It explores a wide range of topics, including ethical and policy issues, methodology, and data collection. Gives an overview of research in sign languages in the world.

Students will:
- accept the ethical principles of research in the community of the Deaf
- distinguish research methods of sign languages
- understand and apply the analysis and processing of collected data in sign languages
- be able to professionally and scientifically interpret research results
