Module: Inclusive Education and Rehabilitation

The students can analyze the developmental and functioning characteristics, in various social contexts, of children and adults with learning difficulties, ADHD, lowered intellectual abilities, disorders of the autistic spectrum, and multiple difficulties. They know how to select adequate evaluation techniques, carry out evaluation, integrate data from different evaluation sources, and understand the outcomes of the evaluation on designing individualized programmes and teaching processes, as well as individually focused support plans. They independently create, apply, and evaluate individualized education-rehabilitational procedures suitable for specific needs of individuals and groups of children with developmental difficulties and persons with disability. They independently create, apply, and evaluate the plan of support to early development, education, and employment.

They independently create, apply, and evaluate activities on fostering social inclusion of children with developmental difficulties and persons with disability on all levels of ecological systems. They use arguments in advocating contemporary approach in the context of human rights.

They advocate the view on disability as a consequence of interaction between s and influences of social context (family, education institutions, and environment). They are qualified to promote in the community the rights of children with developmental difficulties and their parents, as well as the rights of persons with disabilities.

Module: Rehabilitation of Persons with Visual Impairments

The students acquire knowledge and skills of planning, creating, and conducting the education-rehabilitational evaluation of persons with difficulties in visual perception, as well as the possibility of independent realization of the overall education-rehabilitational work with blind and partially sighted persons. During the study, the students acquire specific knowledge and skills, and the focus on contemporary approach to the education-rehabilitational field is fostered.

With this programme the students also acquire competences which are necessary for cooperation with different types of experts who are working with persons with difficulties in visual perception, and develop skills needed for professional communication with them focused on providing the high-quality support.

Module: Rehabilitation, Sophrology, Creative and Art/Expressive Therapies

The students acquire competences necessary in application of differential diagnostics based on the analysis of psychosomatic, somatopsychologic, and psychosocial factors in the behaviour of the individual; integrative, holistic, and sophrologic models in prevention, education, therapy, early developmental and complex rehabilitation and palliative care; in application of creative therapies and art therapies, and other complementary support methods with the standard forms of education, medical treatment, and rehabilition; adequate methods of clinical evaluation; independent designing of protocols for therapy, education, and evaluation (depending on the diagnosis, clinical picture, and needs of the subject...); interdisciplinary communication; multidimensional approaches in discovering and supporting life potentials and quality of life.

Competences

The holders of MA degree in Educational Rehabilitation have acquired knowledge and skills needed for professional interdisciplinary cooperation (in education, rehabilitation, and clinical practice), first-hand education work, counselling of other experts and parents, and supervision of work by holders of BA degree in Educational Rehabilitation.

They are trained for searching the literature, databases and other sources of information. They are qualified for planning and conducting scientific research. They also have a highly developed awareness of professional ethics and responsibilities in the practice of educational rehabilitation, as well as the readiness to participate in lifelong learning and recognize its importance.
